The district borders on Sandkrug to the northeast . The place can be reached via bus route 278 at the three stops Streekermoor Grundschule, Grenzweg and Borchers- / Mühlenweg.
history
Streekermoor was a bog colony that emerged as a planned settlement at the beginning of the 20th century. Most of the colonists came in 1908 and 1909. They moved into the houses planned by the Settlement Office of the then Grand Duchy of Oldenburg , which were built from white sand-lime brick for cost reasons . On December 31, 2015, the place had 3431 inhabitants.

On November 18, 2008 the village community Streekermoor eV was founded. Since then, the place has had a permanent community meeting place.
