The Schnellbach rises southeast of the Großbuch district of Otterwisch in Frauenholz and after a few meters it crosses the border to the Bernbruch district of Grimma . From there the Schnellbach flows approximately north-northeast in its straightened bed to the bay pond in the large natural monument (FND) Buchteich Großbardau . Directly north of the FND, it crosses under the K 8353 district road , passes a weir system and then runs straight to its confluence with the Parthe northeast of the Grimmar district of Großbardau .
