The Schotthock with about 15,000 inhabitants, is the largest district of the Westphalian city of Rheine is assigned, the reclassified on 1 April 1927, the city of Rheine. It is in the north of the city.
The district is bounded in the west by the Ems . It stretches from Konrad-Adenauer-Ring to the industrial area Rheine Nord.

The Schotthock has a small shopping street in the town center.
To the west of the Schotthock is the Rheine West industrial area with the main locations of Apetito , Karmann , Nur Die and Hoodboyz .
religion
In the Schotthock is the Catholic Church of St. Ludgerus belonging to the parish of St. Antonius . The community runs a youth club there, the "Underground".
Public facilities
The Schotthock has two primary schools , the Bodelschwingh School and the Ludgerus School, as well as a secondary school , the Nelson Mandelaschule. There are also three kindergartens, the AWO Kindergarten, the St. Bonifatius and the St. Ludgerus Kindergarten.
