The Hof Schrapfendorf (also "Unterster Hof") is a district of Schnellmannshausen and has been part of the town of Treffurt in the Wartburg district in Thuringia since 1993 .

location

The district is located about six kilometers south of the core town of Treffurt in the valley of the Schnellmannshäuser Bach .

history

The farm with the sonorous name Schrapfendorf probably dates from the 12th century and has been in the Deisenroth family since 1925. According to ancient traditions, it was a monk's seat, probably a farmyard belonging to the Schnellmannshaus corridor and owned by the provost of Zella five kilometers away , the owner Hans Deisenroth said in a newspaper interview. As a profitable hobby, the Deisenroths run carp and trout rearing in the spring pond near the homestead. Today's Hof Schrapfendorf is located in the area of the Schrapfendorf settlement, known as desert in the 14th century, and belonged to the noble lords of Treffurt in the High Middle Ages . The Altstrasse leading from Creuzburg via Hattengehau in the direction of Treffurt passed Schrapfendorf. At the same time a street from the Mertelstal ended here, which rises to the summit of the Heldrastein and also leads to the Hüneburg , which belonged to the Treffurt knights in the High Middle Ages .

In 1640 the district was first mentioned in a document. At that time he belonged to the office of Creuzburg .

The field name Judengottesacker at the entrance to the Mertelstal, near Schrapfendorf, is reminiscent of a medieval Jewish cemetery located there.
