The script filefish ( Aluterus scriptus ) is the largest filefish with a maximum length of 1.10 meters . It lives in all tropical and subtropical seas worldwide, both in the Atlantic and in the Indo-Pacific . The animals live individually or as a couple, mostly in lagoons or on outer reefs . Occasionally one finds juvenile or adult specimens in the open sea under floating objects or seaweed .
Font-file fish eat algae , seaweed and sessile invertebrates such as hydroids , sea fans , sea anemones and tunicates .
