Architecture and history

The two-storey schoolhouse was built in 1877 in half-timbered construction. In addition to the function as a school, a prayer room was also arranged in the building. The chapel was built on the upper floor of the north transverse wing and is spanned by a flat wooden ceiling. Wood sculptor Gustav Kuntzsch , Wernigerode, supplied the altar cross for the church service room . In 1998 the chapel was restored and the original painting, probably created by the painter Adolf Quensen , was restored. To a large extent, the equipment is still from the construction period. In the chapel there is an organ made by the Hanover company Furtwängler & Hammer . There is a small tower tower on top of the building.

The school closed in 1956. In addition to the chapel used as a church, the house now houses the Chronikstube local history museum , living rooms and a doctor's office.

In the local register of monuments , the school is listed as a monument under registration number 094 25279 .
