Schulthess Buttress is a massive and icy cliff in Marie-Byrd-Land in western Antarctica . In the Ohio Range of the Horlick Mountains , it rises between the Ricker Canyon and the Higgins Canyon on the north side of the Buckeye Table .
A team from the United States Antarctic Program to explore the Horlick Mountains took measurements of the cliff in December 1958 . The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1962 after the Swiss photographer Emil Schulthess (1913-1996), who had accompanied the team.
