The Higgins Canyon is a steep-walled and icy gorge in Marie-Byrd Land in West Antarctica . In the Ohio Range of the Horlick Mountains it is located immediately east of the Schulthess Buttress on the north side of the Buckeye Table .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named the canyon in 1962 after Merwyn D. Higgins, a geologist on a team from Ohio State University who explored the Horlick Mountains between 1961 and 1962.
