The route comprises two rounds of five kilometers each through the pedestrian zone and parks. The five-kilometer circuit is officially measured according to IWR, i. H. the distances of five and ten kilometers can be included in the list of the best and thus fall into the road running category .
A running distance of 400 meters is offered for children from 5 to 11 years of age, and a distance of 1.7 kilometers for teenagers from 11 to 17 years of age.
Spread over the four runs on offer, 3181 registrations were registered for January 6, 2020. For each registration, EUR 1.00 is forwarded to the Schwäbisch Hall Cancer Association, which donated the amount rounded up by the organizers to EUR 3200 for the construction of a hospice in Schwäbisch Hall in 2020.
history
The Dreikönigslauf goes back to the Schwäbisch Hall city runs, which probably took place before 1959. In Hall's historiography it can be found that the race was reintroduced as a relay race on July 19, 1959. The runners of TSG Schwäbisch Hall made up the winning team in uninterrupted order until 1966.
On May 15, 1970, the Hall clubs ended this sporting encounter, which was revived in 1985 by Lord Mayor Karl-Friedrich Binder with the support of the city. The TSG long distance runners took over the organization.
The first starting shot began as a New Year's Eve run with 130 participants. The event is now called the Dreikönigslauf, as it had to be postponed in 1988 and 1990 due to the unfavorable calendar constellations. The event has a steadily increasing number of participants.
