history

Schwabegg was already settled in the Bronze Age, as some reading finds show. Several remains of the settlement from Roman times are protected as ground monuments. The village was first mentioned in 1110. The associated district of Königshausen is only mentioned later in 1408. The Lords of Schwabegg , as owners of what would later become the Staufer rule of Schwabeck, had been the grand bailiffs of the Augsburg bishopric since 980 at the latest. Like the other districts, Schwabegg is part of the Schwabmünchner Urmark.

In addition to the castle stables and the church, two other buildings from the early 19th century have been preserved as architectural monuments .

On May 1, 1978 Schwabegg was incorporated into the city of Schwabmünchen as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .
