The Black Schluftwasser (and often black Schluftwasser ) is a left tributary of the Cold Bode in Saxony-Anhalt district of Harz in the Harz .

It rises in the Goethemoor on the southern slope of the Brocken , flows down through the Eckerloch ravine to the southeast, taking in a few tributaries and crossing under the Brocken Railway and twice the Brockenstrasse , and flows into the Kalte Bode at the Schluftwiesen .

The Eckerlochstieg , the steepest and most demanding of the paths to and from the Brocken that is still open to the public in the Harz National Park, leads along the middle and lower reaches of the stream .
