The Schwarzenberg is located in the Saarbrücken-Kirkeler Wald natural area (No. 186) between the Saarland University in the north and the Saarbrücken districts Scheidt in the east, Eschberg in the south and Rotenbühl in the southwest. The city ​​forest of St. Johann extends on the mountain .

Mountain description

Southeast of the Schwarzenberg there is a Hexentanzplatz ( Lage ) with the Römerstein and to the south in the Kieselgrund is the Willingsquelle ( Lage ), which feeds the small Saar tributary of the Schwarzenbergbach . This brook is fed by a brook that comes from the Römerbrünnchen ( Lage ) located south-south-west of the mountain . There is a grill hut near the source and a little to the south of it is the Schwarzenbergbad, one of the largest outdoor swimming pools in Saarbrücken ( location ).
