location

The residential area on the Alte Jäglitz , approx. 1 km east of Babe and eight km southwest of Neustadt (Dosse) consists of only four courtyards.

Until its incorporation in 1958, it was considered one of the smallest communities in Germany. In 1958 it became part of Roddahn and in 2003 it was incorporated into Neustadt (Dosse) with this place.

history

Before the Rhinluchs was drained around 1773, the Jäglitz merged with the Dosse at what is now Schwarzwasser to form an inaccessible swamp area: the “black water”. The swamp water flowed into the Havel over a width of approx. 15 km . Around 1717 five charcoal stalls were built on the Schwarzen (= Jäglitz); the area belonged to the administrative area of the Neustadt / Dosse office . The Büdner got a few acres each. In 1800 six Büdner and three residents lived here, a total of 58 people. In 1840 there were 7 residential buildings, and in 1860 9 farm buildings were registered in addition to the 7 residential buildings. In 1900 there were still four houses. Today there are still four courtyards.

At the time it was founded, the place belonged to the Neustadt / Dosse district. After the office was dissolved in 1872, it became an independent municipality within the Ruppin district . With the district reform of 1952, the Schwarzwasser community came to the Kyritz district and was incorporated into Roddahn on January 1, 1958 . Roddahn with the district of Schwarzwasser merged with ten other communities to form the Neustadt (Dosse) district in 1992 . The Kyritz district was merged with the Wittstock and Neuruppin districts to form the Ostprignitz-Ruppin district in 1993 . On December 31, 2002, the community of Roddahn (with its district Schwarzwasser) was incorporated into the city of Neustadt (Dosse). Since then, Schwarzwasser is "only" a residential area in the city of Neustadt (Dosse) .
