The Schwefelbach is a left tributary of the Selke with the river ordinal number 5.

At the foot of the Mittelberg , south of the Conrodfeld , the Schwefelbach rises at 395  m above sea level. Above sea level. The source is located on a forest path called the Long Path , 50 m above the intersection with a forest path called a field path. The long path runs parallel to it for almost the entire length of the sulfur stream.

At Alexisbad the Schwefelbach flows into the Selke near a brook coming from Harzgerode . Shortly before, the Selketalbahn crosses the stream. Nearby is a yellow bridge called the sulfur bridge over the Selke.
