The 2012/13 Swiss Football Championship was the 43rd season in women's football.
In the National League A 10 teams took part, the championship was divided into two parts: a qualifying round (18 games) and a final round (8 clubs, 7 games) or barrage with the last two clubs of the NLA and the first two clubs of the NLB. The teams took half of the points earned from the qualifying round (rounded up) into the final round.
The FC Zurich Women could his title from the previous season to successfully defend. The newly promoted FC Thun had to return to the NLB at the end of the season. In its place, FC Neunkirch started in the NLA from the following season .

At the beginning of the season, FC Rapperswil-Jona , FC Zollikofen and FC Therwil were promoted from the first division . While FC Rapperswil-Jona was able to keep the class, FC Zollikofen and FC Therwil had to relegate together with FC Malters at the end of the season.
The defending champions FC Zurich secured their 17th Swiss championship title on May 9, 2013, four rounds before the end. At the end of the season they had won all 25 games and had a goal difference of 145: 9, which corresponds to an average goal difference of 5.44 goals per game.
