Schwelmer Strasse 5

The two-storey residential and commercial building at Schwelmer Strasse 5 in Wuppertal - Langerfeld was built in 1874 on the new main street, which was built in 1832, as a restaurant for carters traveling through . Two iron bars on the street front to tie horses still indicate the original use. The half-timbered house is verschiefert and with a gable roof covered.

One side of the ground floor is still used today as a restaurant , the other side as a sales room for a watch shop.

Together with the houses at Odoakerstraße 1 and 3 and Schwelmer Straße 8, the building forms an ensemble of buildings around the old church and represents the historic center of Langerfeld.

On April 19, 1989, the house was entered as a monument in the list of monuments of the city of Wuppertal.
