Odoakerstrasse 1
The two-story residential and commercial building Odoakerstraße 1 in Wuppertal - Langerfeld was built around 1740. The half-timbered house is just on the western side to Langerfelder market towards verschiefert and with a gable roof covered. The northern side, towards Schwelmer Straße , was later extended by an extension with a tented roof . The building has a floor area of around 158 m².
Originally the ground floor was used by a restaurant , later by an ice cream parlor. The ice cream parlor's rooms are currently used as a second-hand shop.
Together with the houses at Schwelmer Strasse 5 and 8 and Odoakerstrasse 3, the building forms an ensemble of buildings around the Old Church and represents the historic center of Langerfeld and a distinctive motif on Langerfeld Market.
Emil Vedder saved this house from demolition in the 1970s, for which he was awarded the Golden Coil in 1978 . On April 14, 1989, the house was entered as an architectural monument in the list of monuments of the city of Wuppertal.
