Schyrokyne ( Ukrainian Широкине , Russian Широкино Schirokino ) is a village in the Ukrainian Donetsk Oblast . Schyrokyne had about 1400 inhabitants in 2001, it is currently uninhabited.

The end of 1791 the village was founded is in the Volnovakha Raion on the shore of the Azov Sea and the European route E58 / M 14 78 km southeast of the Rajonzentrum Volnovakha and 23 km east of Mariupol . Schyrokyne is the administrative center of the district council of the same name , which also includes the village of Berdjanske ( Бердянське ) with about 220 inhabitants.

Between mid-2014 and mid-2015, the village was fought over during the war in Ukraine between Ukrainian troops and pro-Russian militias.

The village has been under the control of the Ukrainian troops since mid-2015, but has been almost uninhabited since then.
