Scorzonera mollis subsp. idaea is a subspecies of the Scorzonera mollis plantfrom the sunflower family (Asteraceae).

features

Scorzonera mollis subsp. idaea is a low, more or less dense, spiderweb-tomentose hairy, persistent rhizome geophyte that reaches heights of 4 to 12 centimeters. The rhizome is bulky and thickened. The leaves are all basal, 3 to 6 inches long and wavy. The shell is 14 to 20 millimeters in size, fruiting it reaches up to 22 millimeters. The fruits are 10 to 12 millimeters long and bare.

The flowering period extends from May to July.

Occurrence

Scorzonera mollis subsp. idaea is endemic to Crete . It grows in Psiloritis and in the Dikti Mountains on limestone slopes and in sinkholes at altitudes of 1400 to 2450 meters.
