Scott Hamilton Kennedy

Scott Hamilton Kennedy (* 1965 in Kentucky ) is a film director , film producer and film editor in the field of documentary film .

Career

Kennedy was born in Kentucky and grew up in Berkeley and New York City . To pursue his career in the film business, he moved to Los Angeles and met his wife Catherine there. The couple have two daughters.

His career as a documentary filmmaker began in 2002 when he released the film OT: Our Town . For his film he received the award for best documentary film at five film festivals, including the Palm Springs International Film Festival , a nomination at the Independent Spirit Awards 2004 and a nomination for the Chlotrudis Award in the category “ Best Documentary ”. He then wrote a script that dealt with what happened after the 1992 riots in Los Angeles . His documentary is about a farm run by Latino families that was cleared by the police in 2006. It shows Daryl Hannah and Danny Glover . For this documentary, he received a nomination in the category " Best Documentary " at the 2009 Academy Awards .

He then released the documentary films Fame High (2012), which is about teenagers who want to become famous and was filmed at the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, and Food Evolution (2016), which deals with the topic of genetically modified food.
