Scott Mills

Scott Robert Mills (* 28. March 1974 in Southampton ) is a British radio - DJ , emcee , and occasional actor . He became famous in the UK for his Scott Mills Show program on BBC Radio 1 . At the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 he commented on the semifinals, and he also read the points from Great Britain at the ESC 2010 and 2012 to 2014.

Career

Mills began his career at the age of 16 with the private broadcaster Power FM in Hampshire. As a reward for well-produced programs, he was given the opportunity to moderate the graveyard slot (1 a.m. to 6 a.m.), which was his stepping stone to success. This success made him the youngest presenter on mainstream private radio .

Private

Mill's parents live separately and both appeared on his show at different intervals.

Speaking to the press outed himself Mills in 2001 as a homosexual to speculation by the tabloids to anticipate. In the interview he stated: “I'd just like to be accepted as a normal bloke who is gay and is on the radio and the television.” ( I just want to be accepted as a normal guy who is gay and on the radio and on TV . ).

In 2009 Mills received an honorary doctorate from Southampton Solent University for his achievements .

Scott Mills is fighting global warming with the Global Cool campaign .

In 2012 Mills published his biography "Love you, bye!"
