Väinö Sipilä ( Väinö Jeremias Sipilä ; * December 24, 1897 in Pälkäne , † September 11, 1987 there ) was a Finnish long-distance runner .

At the Olympic Games in Paris in 1924, he was fourth over 10,000 meters . In cross country contest he did not reach the target, but was as the other members of the winning Finnish team won the gold medal.

In 1928 he was nominated after a fifth place in the national test race for the marathon of the Olympic Games in Amsterdam , in which he finished in 15th place.

On June 19, 1925, he set a world record over 20,000 meters in Stockholm with 1:06:29 h, and on September 16, 1928 in Tampere with 1: 43: 07.8 h, another over 30,000 meters.

He was Finnish cross-country champion four times (1923–1925, 1929) and once over 10,000 meters (1923).
