Scott F. Pladel (born November 25, 1962 in Albany , New York ) is a retired American bobsleigh athlete .
Pladel was at the high school and visiting the Northeastern University in the triple jump active. Due to his sporting achievements, he was appointed to the US bobsleigh team in 1985. With this he took part in the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary , Canada . In the four-man bobsleigh he finished 16th with his teammates Brian Shimer , Jim Herberich and Matt Roy . He ended his athletic career in 1992. He then returned to Northeastern University, where he graduated as a medical assistant . In the orthopedics and sports medicine department , he worked at various clinics in Massachusetts .
