Scott Stanford (born August 30, 1966 in Haverstraw , New York ) is an American news anchor and sports commentator . Together with Sukanya Krishnan he moderates the WPIX11 Morning Show for the station WPIX . For World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) he hosts the shows This Week in WWE and WWE Afterburn on the WWE Network .

Life

Scott Stanford studied at the State University of New York in Oswego Broadcasting and Communications. He was initially active as an announcer in college basketball and American football .

His career as a news anchor started on radio and on WWOR-TV , where he started as a sports presenter for My9 News at Ten . As a sports presenter on the radio station WCBS , he twice won the Air Award, which honors speakers from the New York area. He started working for WWE in 2010, initially replacing Jack Korpela at WWE Bottom Line . In October 2010 he became the new host on WWE Superstars . There he inherited Michael Cole in his position and supported first Jerry Lawler until 2013 , then the injured CM Punk and later Josh Mathews . He is also the moderator of the pay-per-view show and has appeared in Zack Ryder's YouTube web show Z! True Long Island Story . Along with Cathy Kelley, he is also the current presenter at WWE Afterburn .

For the TV station WPIX he has been the newscaster with Tamsen Fadal since 2013 for the news at five and ten o'clock.

Scott Stanford has won the New York Emmy Award for Best Sports Presenter five times .

Private life

Scott Stanford is married and lives in New Jersey with his wife and daughters .
