Screamers is a British documentary from the year 2006 , in which Carla Garapedian directed. The film examines the topic of genocide being carried out again towards the beginning of the 21st century.

The documentary was made in collaboration with the alternative metal band System of A Down , whose members have Armenian roots. Among other things, is also Serj Tankian grandfather, the genocide of the Armenians survived to see the film.
Another topic in Screamers is the negationism of the genocide in today's Turkey and the increasing neutrality of the USA on the issue of genocide.

Screamers got more and more positive reviews. Richard James Havis, for example, said in the Hollywood Reporter on December 13, 2006 that the film was “a committed piece of agitprop that benefits from the passion of its protagonists.” In contrast, Peter Debruge criticized the film in Variety on December 7, 2006: “The Film drowns its passionate message over and over again with music, which becomes an uncomfortable mixture of history lesson and concert, which will be heavy fare for any audience. "
Ken Hachikian, chairman of the Armenian National Committee of America , described the film as "a powerful contribution to the anti-genocide movement."
Awards
Screamers won the audience award for best documentary at the 2006 AFI Fest .
