Seamus O'Connor (born October 4, 1997 in San Diego ) is an Irish snowboarder . He starts in the freestyle disciplines.

Career

O'Connor has been participating in the Ticket to Ride World Snowboard Tour competitions since 2008 . In January 2010 he won his first victory at the Burton European Junior Open in Laax on the halfpipe . The following year he won again in the halfpipe competition at the Burton European Junior Open and finished third on the halfpipe at the Burton US Junior Open at Stratton Mountain Resort . In February 2012 he came in at the Snowboard World Championships 2012 in Oslo on the 53rd place in the Slopestyle and the 32nd place in the halfpipe competition. In the same month he took second place on the halfpipe at the Burton European Junior Open in Laax. He drove his first FIS World Cup race in August 2012 in Cardrona , which he finished in 45th place on the halfpipe. At the 2013 Snowboard World Championships in Stoneham , he finished 21st in slopestyle and 19th on the halfpipe. In his first Olympic participation in Sochi in 2014 , he reached 17th place in slopestyle and 15th place on the halfpipe. At the 2015 Snowboard World Championships on Kreischberg , he took 13th place on the halfpipe and tenth place in slopestyle. In February 2016, he took 13th place on the halfpipe at the X-Games Oslo 2016 .
