Sean Porter (cinematographer)
Sean Porter (* in Tacoma , Washington ) is an American cameraman .
Life
Porter was born in Tacoma , Washington State , and grew up with two brothers and a sister in the small town of Gig Harbor . He started making his own films from an early age. The family later moved to Bellevue , where he first dealt more professionally with the technical side of film production at Bellevue High School and made the decision to become a cameraman. Porter graduated from the University of Washington in 2004 .
After numerous short films, Porter was hired as a cameraman for the film drama Eden (2012). His work on Eliza Hittman's drama It Felt Like Love , which premiered at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival , earned Porter initial critical acclaim. In 2015 he filmed Jeremy Saulnier's thriller Green Room . In 2018, Porter was responsible for camera work on the Oscar- winning tragic comedy Green Book - A Special Friendship .
In July 2019, Porter was invited as one of 842 personalities by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences as a new member.
