Sebastian Klinga (born April 26, 1992 in Lahti ) is a former Finnish ski jumper .

Career

Klinga, who started ski jumping at the age of six and competes for Lahden Hiihtoseura , made his international debut in December 2009 in the FIS Cup . In September 2010 he achieved a top 10 result for the first time , finishing sixth in Falun . In December, Klinga made his debut in the Ski Jumping Continental Cup in Rovaniemi . With two places in the lower ranks he was unsuccessful. After two good top 20 placements in the FIS Cup, the Finn finally came back to the B-team in the Continental Cup in September 2011. However, he was unable to win Continental Cup points in Trondheim or in November in Rovaniemi.

In the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2012 in Turkey's Erzurum Klinga jumped to rank 27 in singles. With the team he reached seventh place in the team competition. After rather poor results in the subsequent Continental Cup, he jumped into the points for the first time in Kuopio in August 2013. In addition, he achieved his first top 20 placement in 14th in the second competition.

In November 2013 he started in Kuusamo for the first time in a qualification in the Ski Jumping World Cup . After qualifying as 28th, he clearly missed his first World Cup points as 47th. He then remained in the B-team. Although Klinga was unable to perform consistently during the 2013/14 Continental Cup season , he traveled to Sapporo with the World Cup team in January . After he qualified again, he finished jumping in 57th place. Also in Lahti he remained 49th without points. After he narrowly missed the qualification at the Ski Flying World Championships 2014 in Harrachov and the World Cup individual jumping in Planica , Klinge achieved ninth place in the team competition together with Lauri Asikainen , Ville Larinto and Anssi Koivuranta . At the Ski Flying World Championships 2016 in Bad Mitterndorf he finished seventh with the team.
