Sebastian Soukup

Sebastian Soukup is a German production designer and film architect .

Career

Soukup studied architecture at the Berlin University of the Arts and worked with directors such as David Cronenberg , Larry Charles , Stefan Ruzowitzky , Volker Schlöndorff and Wim Wenders .

He also worked as a set designer with Christoph Schlingensief at the Volksbühne Berlin and in productions at the Berliner Ensemble . His storyboards for the film " Palermo Shooting " ( Wim Wenders ) were shown in 2011 in the exhibition "Between Film and Art. Storyboards from Hitchcock to Spielberg" in the Deutsche Kinemathek - Museum for Film and Television in Berlin. Sebastian Soukup was nominated for the German Film Prize 2020 by the German Film Academy for the production design by Narziss & Goldmund .

He has given several lectures and master classes in production design at the Ludwigsburg Film Academy , the Potsdam Babelsberg Film University , the Technical University of Berlin and the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (DFFB). In the 2018/19 winter semester he was invited to the Bauhaus University Weimar , Faculty of Architecture, Prof. Heike Büttner, for the workshop “SPIRITED AWAY-ABOUT DELUSIONIST ARCHITECTURE”. He currently teaches at the Weißensee Art Academy in Berlin .
