Sébastien Michaud (born May 7, 1987 in Joliette ) is a Canadian Taekwondoin . It starts in the weight class up to 80 kilograms.

Michaud has been participating in international competitions since 2003. He celebrated his first great success in Buenos Aires in 2006 , where he became the Pan American champion in the class up to 78 kilograms. The following year he started for the first time at the World Championships in Beijing . He was surprisingly stopped by Steven Lopez in the semifinals and won the bronze medal. Michaud qualified for the 2008 Beijing Olympics. In the class up to 80 kilograms, he was eliminated in the quarter-finals. At the 2009 World Cup in Copenhagen , he fought his way back to the semi-finals, where he lost again to Lopez and won bronze again. Michaud won the decisive battle for third place at the 2011 American Olympic qualification tournament in Santiago de Querétaro and qualified for his second Olympic Games in London in 2012 .

Michaud trains under Alain Bernier at Club Taekwondo Sainte-Foy . He is studying at Laval University .
