In the US album charts, the Billboard 200 , Section.80 rose to position 113. In the first week 5,400 units of the album were sold. Section.80 stayed in the US charts for two weeks. By October 2012, Lamar's debut album had sold 78,000 times.
criticism
The e-zine Laut.de rated Lamar's debut album with five out of a possible five points. According to Stefan Johannesberg's criticism, the rapper " bursts with Nazir street poetry , Wu-Tang honorable righteousness, 2 Pac ambivalence, Q-Tip swagger and modern-melancholy Kanye West beats even all association boundaries and top lists 2011 . ”In the lyrics of the album, Kendrick Lamar delves“ deep into socially critical but never preaching storytelling ”.
