Sedgemoor is a district in Somerset in England . The administrative seat is the city of Bridgwater ; other significant places are Burnham-on-Sea , Cheddar and North Petherton .
The district was formed on April 1, 1974 and was created from the merger of the Municipal Borough Bridgwater, the Urban District Burnham-on-Sea and the Rural Districts Bridgwater and Ashbrigde.
