The sedum ochroleucum ( Sedum ochroleucum Chaix ; Syn .: Sedum anopetalum . DC ), also a pale yellow fat hen or Pale yellow Mauerpfeffer called, is a plant type from the genus of sedum ( Sedum ) in the family of Crassulaceae (Crassulaceae).
description
The ocher stonecrop is a perennial plant that reaches heights of 10 to 30 cm. The inflorescences do not nod before the blossoms open and have no fully developed branches. The sepals are glandular. The crown is whitish yellow to pale yellow in color. It stands upright, the petals are about 1.5 times as long as the sepals.
The flowering period extends from June to July.
The species has chromosome number 2n = 34, 68 or 102.
Occurrence
The species occurs from western southern Europe to warm temperate western Europe (France). Only a few occurrences in Thuringia are known from Germany. It grows there in limestone rock and gravel corridors and vineyard walls on dry, mostly lime-rich, nutrient-poor stone soils. The first reliable document of this kind from Germany dates back to 1882. It grows in companies of the Xerobromion association.
use
The yellow ocher stonecrop is rarely used as a ground cover ornamental plant for rock gardens.
