The former castle

Former castle of the Counts of Castell zu Castell-Rüdenhausen on Jezioro Niesłysz ( Großer Nieschlitzsee ). The castle was built in the 19th century in the neo-renaissance style. It then experienced numerous changes of ownership. Around the summer / autumn of 1944 it was converted into a maternity home of the National Socialist People's Welfare (NSV) for evacuees from Berlin and the surrounding area. Today it is used, among other things, as a rehabilitation facility and hotel.

Part of the meteorite

In 1847 an iron meteorite weighing about 100 kg from the class of the octahedrite was excavated in Seeläsgen .

Its composition is similar to the Morasko meteorite find , so it could be one of several splits of this main meteorite (see Wasson & Kallemeyn, 2002).
