Seen (* 1961 in the Bronx , New York , NY , USA ; actually Richard "Richie" Mirando ) is a graffiti-writing artist and founder of the UA (United Artists) crew, which now has members all over the world (e.g .: Loomit , Darco ). He is considered an icon of the writing culture and is often referred to as the "Godfather of Graffiti".

Life

Seen in 1973 at the age of 12, accompanied by his brother, painted his first picture. In his career he has achieved great reputation within the graffiti scene. Among other things, he sprayed around 200 Wholecars .

His style is divided into relatively easy to read letters.

In his career he also used other names for spraying such as Demon , Apache , Angel , Richie , Odie3 or Psycho .

Seen has a tattoo studio in New York . He is featured in films and books about graffiti, e.g. B. Subway Art and Style Wars . He also appeared in Mark Ecko's game Getting up: Contents under pressure .

At the moment his work is focused on making sculptures and designer toys.

His first canvas works were created in 1979, which he exhibited in countless exhibitions around the world. He worked with many other writers around the world, including the Germans Loomit and DAIM .
