Sefora Nelson
Sefora Nelson (* 1979 in Freudenstadt , maiden name Gaertig) is a German songwriter and vocal coach.
Life
Sefora Gaertig is the second oldest of seven siblings. She moved to Pfalzgrafenweiler in 1990 with her parents (German father and Italian mother) . In Horb am Neckar , the German-Italian attended secondary school and then the Martin-Gerbert-Gymnasium. At sixteen, her talent at the opera was encouraged. Nelson decided to study in Chicago , where she studied singing and theology for six semesters before coming to Strasbourg to study music and theology there. During her studies she sang in prisons and for the homeless. Today she sings all over Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Italy.
In 2009 producer Arne Kopfermann became aware of them. In the same year she won the SPRING Song Contest 2009 with her song Thank You For Valleys . Nelson published her own songs on series such as Starke Frauen - soft tones at Gerth Medien , before her first German-language solo album when the day came out there in March 2010 . In September 2012, Gerth Medien also released their second album More than enough , this time the producer was Samuel Jersak. On March 6, 2013, Sefora Nelson had an appearance at the large-scale Pro Christ evangelism in Stuttgart, which the ERF broadcasted via satellite to many domestic and foreign congregations. In September 2015 she gave an open-air concert as part of the 7th Saxon State Garden Show in Oelsnitz / Erzgeb. In the summer of 2016, Sefora Nelson had to cancel all subsequent concerts due to health problems with her voice. Since summer 2017 she has appeared again in public. In the meantime she published her book Because you are with me - Psalm 23 with personal reports. With her book "Because you hear me" about the Lord's Prayer , published in 2019, she brings new food for thought to the well-known prayer.
Private
In 2005 she married Keith Nelson in Prague . They live together with their children Gabriela, who was born in New York, and Nathanael Joah in Backnang .
