Ramsberg harbor

The Ramsberg sailing port is located north of Ramsberg , a district of the market town of Pleinfeld in the Weissenburg-Gunzenhausen district in Central Franconia , on the south bank of the Great Brombach in the Franconian Lake District .

Since the end of the Pleinfeld port, it has been the only port in the municipality. According to the operator, the Zweckverband Brombachsee , it is the largest sailing port on a German inland lake. The number of berths in the water is given as 600, 580 or 543, depending on the source, and the number of berths on land corresponds to 150.

The port has a double slip ramp, a crane with a maximum lifting capacity of 5 tons and a sailing center with the headquarters of several sailing associations and yacht clubs, including the Nuremberg Yacht Club . It is also used by the water sports center of the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg . The landing stage of the MS Brombachsee is not at the port, but further east near the town center. There is also a weather station in the sailing harbor.

After the sport of sailing declined and more and more berths in the water that were never fully rented remained free, the “Floating Village Brombachsee” project was launched in the port. 19 floating holiday homes were built on the free berths by 2019. The houses are sold, the owners can use them for seven weeks a year, but have to make them available for rent for the rest of the year. It is the first floating holiday development in the Free State.
