The Seifenbach , historically mostly Seifenbächel , is a right tributary of the Schwarzwasser in the area of Johanngeorgenstadt in the Saxon Ore Mountains . In contrast to the diagonally opposite Kirschbächel, the stream has retained its natural course to this day.
The Seifenbach rises on the Rabenberg (Ore Mountains) and flows into the Schwarzwasser in the Johanngeorgenstadt district of Steigerdorf not far from the Friedrich August Stolln . A road leads through the lower valley of the Seifenbach.
Mining has been carried out in the Seifenbaches valley since the 16th century, some remains of which can still be seen today.
