Seiko Okamoto ( Japanese 岡本 聖 子 , Okamoto Seiko ; born March 14, 1978 ) is a former Japanese tennis player .

Career

Seiko Okamoto started her professional career in 1996.

She won her only double title on the WTA Tour in January 2004 when she and her compatriot Shinobu Asagoe prevailed in three sets in the final of the WTA tournament in Hobart against Els Callens and Barbara Schett .

Okamoto was a lot more successful at the ITF level, where she won two singles and 14 doubles competitions. In the world rankings , however, it could not place in the top 100.
