Seitokai no Ichizon ( Japanese 生 徒 会 の 一 存 , eng. “The student council's responsibility”) is a light novel series by Sekina Aoi with illustrations by Kira Inugami , which was adapted as a manga and anime .
The series was originally called Hekiyō Gakuen Seitokai Gijiroku ( 碧 陽 学園 生 徒 会議 事 録 , eng. "Minutes of the Hekiyō School Student Council"), which can still be found on all covers of the light novels. However, since the title was too long and difficult to remember, the actual title of the series was changed to the name of the first volume.
action
The action takes place mainly in a single room, where the five students are supposed to carry out their duties as a student council. But they rarely get involved, as Kurimu repeatedly lets himself be dissuaded from the topic by Ken, the only male member, and none of the members seem to have a great interest in performing the tasks of the student council anyway. Instead, they keep getting off the topic and there are various comical situations that address many clichés and repeatedly parody other well-known series.
Characters
- Ken Sugisaki ( 杉 崎 鍵 , Sugisaki Ken )
- Ken, the deputy chairman, only joined the student council because he wanted to found his own harem, as he knows from his eroges , because it should make all characters happy. While the four girls were elected by the student body, he holds this position because he has the best grades in the school, which he only achieved for the aforementioned purpose. He uses his time to seduce the other female characters according to his ideas, like in a computer game. But his victims vehemently defend themselves against his efforts. Although he looks lazy and carefree to the outside world like the girls, he is actually very hardworking and always stays behind after the student council meetings to do all the work of the student council. He tries to hide this from the girls so that they can continue to be carefree.
- In middle school he dated two girls at the same time, but the relationship broke up because of his indecision; he was also bullied. In the first year of high school, he met one of the four girls at a time of year who unconsciously helped him out of his depression and shaped his current personality. This is also the reason why he wants to make the four girls happy.
- Kurimu Sakurano ( 桜 野 く り む , Sakurano Kurimu )
- Kurimu is the chairperson of the student council. At 1.40 m, she is short in stature, often annoyed about it and the fact that her breasts simply do not get bigger, which are the typical characteristics of a Pettanko . However, she has a big ego, considers herself 1.70 m tall with an F cup, and says that her clothes only make her look small. Overall, their behavior is very similar to that of a naive child. As a result, she is rarely taken seriously by the other characters and compared to a small child or treated like one. She spends most of her student council meetings eating sweets.
- Ken met Kurimu in the spring - Sakurano means "cherry blossom field" - when he was helping her carry boxes. When he casually asked her how he could become more popular, she suggested that he play eroge because the protagonist's job is to make others happy.
- Chizuru Akaba ( 紅葉 知 弦 , Akaba Chizuru )
- The beautiful, busty Chizuru is Ken's dream and the secretary. She has a dark and aloof character and is sometimes feared by others. During student council meetings, she spends her time dealing in stocks, among other things, and seems to be secretly engaged in some shady business. She is also slightly sadistic and manipulative, which is felt in particular by Kurimi and Ken, who repeatedly "brainwash" them or bait them with the simplest means. However, she often spends her time at Kurimu's side, loves her like a little sister, and an intimate relationship with Kurimu is also hinted at.
- In her middle school years, she was bullied by her best friend who wanted to isolate Chizuru to prevent her from leaving. The members of the student council helped her close this emotional wound.
- Chizuru met Ken in the fall - Akaba means “red leaves” - when he was suffering from a broken heart. She hugged him and showed and taught him compassion.
- Minatsu Shiina ( 椎 名 深 夏 , Shiina Minatsu )
- Minatsu is the vice-chairwoman of the student council. She has a brisk tomboy character, loves topics that deal with action , is very sporty, but also, to the amazement of the others, very good at maths. During student council meetings, she therefore primarily reads shōnen manga . She is very concerned about her sister Mafuyu's well-being and is constantly trying to protect her. She behaves like a Tsundere towards Ken .
- Ken met Minatsu in the summer - Minatsu means "midsummer" - where he looked up to her for her ways. She told him not to strive to be like her, but to always try to create the impossible, teaching him to work hard for things that are important to him.
- Mafuyu Shiina ( 椎 名 真 冬 , Shiina Mafuyu )
- Mafuyu, treasurer on the student council, has a very feminine and reserved personality in contrast to her sister. Ken therefore considers her the easiest to be charmed, although he is deterred by the fact that she is Fujoshi a follower of Yaoi - stories of love between men - and therefore harbors fantasies and stories of how Ken had a love affair with a boy named Nakameguro (the actually exists, much to Ken's horror). She is addicted to computer games and therefore mainly plays during the meetings. In addition, she also writes solution instructions for computer games.
- Ken met Mafuyu in winter - Mafuyu means "deep winter" - when he fell asleep on a bench in the snow and she put him in a warm place, even though she was afraid of boys. She taught him courage or true strength.

Anime
Based on the light novel series, Studio Deen produced an anime television series directed by Takuya Satō , while the character design was done by Kumi Horii.
The anime alluded to various other well-known anime in the first episode and often used the opportunity to criticize them. For example, Dragonball Evolution was alluded to with the words that it was so bad that it shouldn't even be mentioned. At the same time, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya was criticized for the fact that people would watch anything if only it was named. But many more anime were "quoted". Including K-On! , Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (and Umineko no Naku Koro ni ), Lucky Star or Kuroshitsuji .
The series was broadcast from October 3 to December 19, 2009 after midnight (and thus on the previous television day ) on TV Aichi , and a few minutes later on BS Nippon . With a few days' delay, the series was also broadcast on Chiba TV , Sun TV , Tokyo MX , TV Kanagawa , TV Saitama and TVQ Kyushu Broadcasting .
A second season of Seitokai no Ichizon Lv.2 ( 生 徒 会 の 一 存 Lv.2 ) was animated by AIC , with the production staff also changing. The director was now Ken'ichi Imaizumi and the changed character design by Masahito Onoda. Some speakers were also exchanged.
The 10 episodes (starting with episode 0) ran from October 13 to December 15, 2012 on the video portal Nico Nico Douga , while the television premiere followed from January 10 to March 14, 2013 after midnight on Tokyo MX and with up to a few Offset also TVQ Kyūshū, Sun TV, Gifu Hōsō, Mie TV, Chiba TV, BS11 , TV Saitama and TV Kanagawa followed.
An OVA was announced as a supplement to the eighth volume of novels by Hekiyō Gakuen Seitokai Mokushiroku for July 5, 2013.
