Seixo is a town and municipality in Portugal .
history
Seixo is first mentioned in 1619, with its first inhabitant, Manuel Figueiras. A village developed, but it was difficult to feed its residents. The reason is the limited fertile, sandy soils. Added to this was the protection of the forests around Seixo issued in 1917, which made it difficult for the population to obtain firewood. That is why emigration has always characterized the community. In 1919 Seixo became its own parish, and in 1984 it became its own administrative parish.
