Seizō Katō (voice actor)
Seizō Katō ( Japanese 加藤 精 三 , Katō Seizō ; born February 14, 1927 in Tokyo city (today: Tokyo ); † January 17, 2014 in Itabashi , Tokyo) was a Japanese voice actor ( seiyū ).
Life
Seizō Katō founded the acting company Gekidan Higei ( 劇 団 日 芸 ) in 1956 . In 1968 he came under contract with the Haikyō artist agency .
He was known for his role as Ittetsu Hoshi in the anime series Kyojin no Hoshi and his voice for the Mefirasu aliens in the Tokusatsu series Ultraman .
In 2009 he was awarded the Award of Merit from the Tōkyō Kokusai Anime Fair .
Seizō Katō succumbed to bladder cancer on January 17, 2014 in a hospital in Itabashi. He left behind his wife Setsuko ( 節 子 ).
