Selene ( Ukrainian Зелене ; Russian Зелёное Seljonoje , in German "Green") is a settlement with around 140 inhabitants (2012) in the center of Ukraine . Selene is part of the Landratsgemeinde Schowte, which also includes the village of Schowte , 2 km away .
Selene is located in the steppe in the historical area of the so-called " Wild Field " in Pyatychatky Raion within the Dnepropetrovsk Oblast . The village has its own train station on the Oleksandrija - Dnipro railway line .
The nearest town is Schowti Wody , about 15 km south. Pjatychatky , 16 km southeast and Oleksandrija, 40 km northwest of the village, can also be reached via the nearby M 04 / E 50 road .
