Semjanivka ( Ukrainian Сем'янівка ; Russian Семьяновка Semjanowka ) is a village in the Ukrainian Poltava Oblast with about 1000 inhabitants (2001).
Geographical location
The village is situated at an altitude of 87 meters on the banks of the Vorskla , 10 km north of the city center from Rajon- and Oblastzentrum Poltava . The N 12 road runs west of the village .
history
The village was renamed Кротенки Krotenky in 1922 in honor of the village chief and was given back its old name Semenivka by resolution No. 1353-VIII of the Verkhovna Rada in the course of decommunization in Ukraine on May 12, 2016 .
In the village there is one of the largest monuments in honor of the crossing of Russian troops under the leadership of Peter I over the Vorskla during the Battle of Poltava , which is said to have taken place here.

Semjaniwka is the administrative center of the same, 3500 ha large district municipality in the center of Rayon Poltawa to the still villages Olepiry ( Олепіри , ⊙ ) with about 5 inhabitants, Patlajiwka ( Патлаївка , ⊙ ) with about 130 inhabitants, Terniwschtschyna ( Тернівщина , ⊙ ) with about 160 inhabitants and Jazynowa Slobidka ( Яцинова Слобідка , ⊙ ) with about 100 inhabitants.
