The transmitter Türi was a radio station of the Estonian radio station near the city of Türi .
The transmitter went into trial operation on October 15, 1937, and regular transmission operations on December 18, 1937. The station, which worked on the frequency 731 kHz (wavelength: 410 m), used a 196.6 m high, free-standing steel lattice tower with a triangular cross-section, isolated from earth , which was built in 19 days and was the tallest structure in Northern Europe at the time . The construction costs were 904,000 crowns.
The transmission tower was blown up in 1941 when the Soviet troops withdrew. The street on which the transmitter mast stood is still called “Raadiojaama” (radio station).
