Days Kaarsted

Days Kaarsted (born May 27, 1928 in Silkeborg , † December 29, 1994 ) was a Danish historian and university professor who was awarded the Søren Gyldendal Prize in 1970.

Life

After attending school, Kaarsted studied history and, after graduating, focused on the history of Denmark in the 20th century . As early as 1964 he put a highly regarded treatise on Regering crises 1957. He then accepted a professorship for history at the University of Odense and taught there until his retirement . Kaarsted, who also received the Søren Gyldendal Prize in 1970 , was appointed Royal Historian of the Order ( Kongelig Ordenshistoriograf ) in 1976 and held this position until his death.
