The Thourie transmitter is a medium-wave transmitter system operated by the French company TDF in the municipality of Thourie near Rennes in Brittany .
The 220-meter-high guyed steel truss mast used today was erected in 1982 and replaced an older mast from 1958, which was then transported and erected from Germany to France as a reparation payment . The France Info program has been broadcast on this mast since 2002 on the frequency 711 kHz with an output of 300 kW .
There used to be a second transmission mast with a height of 120 meters from 1948, which was in operation until 1974 to broadcast a program on the frequency 1241 kHz. This transmission mast was blown up in 1997.
