Senecio Leucanthemifolius is a plant from the genus Senecio ( Senecio ) in the family of Compositae (Asteraceae).
features
Senecio leucanthemifolius is an annual stem therophyte , which occurs in the subspecies subsp. leucanthemifolius reaches heights of growth of 5 to 30 centimeters. The in the subspecies subsp. leucanthemifolius mostly fleshy leaves are spatulate or elliptical and undivided to weakly lobed. The upper leaves can sometimes just be lobed. The sections are forward, oblong or triangular. There are 4 to 20 outer bracts.
The flowering period extends from March to May.
Occurrence
Senecio leucanthemifolius occurs mainly in the (western) Mediterranean area. The species grows on limestone rocks, limestone scree slopes, as well as sandy and rocky coasts. The subspecies vernalis is more widespread in Europe and the Middle East and is a neophyte in numerous countries.

- Senecio leucanthemifolius Poir. subsp. leucanthemifolius : It occurs in North Africa, Southern Europe and the Middle East.
- Senecio leucanthemifolius subsp. caucasicus (DC.) Greuter (Syn .: Senecio vernalis var. caucasicus DC. ): It occurs in Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia and Russia.
- Senecio leucanthemifolius subsp. cyrenaicus (EA Durand & Barratte) Greuter (Syn .: Senecio cyrenaicus (EA Durand & Barratte) Pamp. ): It occurs only in Libya.
- Senecio leucanthemifolius subsp. mauritanicus (Pomel) Greuter (Syn. Senecio mauritanicus Pomel ): It occurs in Morocco, Algeria, Sardinia, Sicily and Libya.
- Spring ragwort ( Senecio leucanthemifolius subsp. Vernalis (Waldst. & Kit.) Greuter , Syn .: Senecio vernalis Waldst. & Kit. ): It is originally found in Hungary, Southeast and Eastern Europe, in West Asia, in the Caucasus and in Central Asia and is a neophyte in numerous other European countries.
