Serge Le Tendre (born December 1, 1946 in Vincennes ) is a French comic book writer and copywriter. He became known in the 1980s with the fantasy comic In Search of the Bird of Time , which was drawn by Régis Loisel .

Career

Le Tendre began as a comic artist in the early 1970s and attended, among other things, a drawing course with Jean-Claude Mézières . He convinces Le Tendre that his true calling lies in writing. In 1975 the first scenario works were created in the French youth magazine Pilote and the earlier comic book Tousse Bourin . Also in 1975, the short-lived magazine Imagine published a few pages from the series In Search of the Bird of Time (originally La Quête de l'oiseau du temps ), drawn by Régis Loisel .

When Le Tendre was discovered during the Dargaud talent search in the early 1980s , he suggested a new beginning for history. After a lot of back and forth, the decision for the draftsman finally falls back on Loisel. The first publication in Charlie Mensuel magazine was an overwhelming success. The publisher publishes the story in a total of four albums, which sell in high print runs and make Le Tendre a well-known comic author.

He then worked with Rodolphe and Jean-Luc Serrano (“ Tai Dor ”), Joseph Béhé ( “Art and Love” ), Pierre Makyo and Alain Dodier (“ Jackie Kottwitz ”), Christian Rossi ( “The Confusion of Julius Antoine ”), among others " ), TaDuc (" Takuan ", " Chinaman " ) and Stéphane Servain ( " L'Histoire de Siloë " , not yet published in German).

With the draftsman Dominique Lidwin and Loisel as co-scenarists, Le Tendre started a second cycle in the series In Search of the Bird of Time in 1997 . In this cycle, three volumes have now been published in French, the first volume translated into German is Javin , the second The Book of Gods and the third Gray Wolf .
