Sergei Jurjewitsch Ossipow ( Russian Сергей Юрьевич Осипов ; born December 15, 1967 in Sverdlovsk , Russian SFSR ) is a former Russian ice hockey player who played for HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk in the Russian super league from 1984 to 2004 .

Career

Sergei Osipov began his career as a hockey player in his hometown with Avtomobilist Sverdlovsk , for which he made his debut in the first Soviet league in the 1984/85 season. After he was relegated in his rookie year with Awtomobilist, he spent the following year with his team in the second-rate Vysschaya League , the title of which the attacker won with Sverdlovsk. He was then signed by HK CSKA Moscow , with whom he won the championship and cup double in the 1987/88 season.

During the 1991/92 season, the Russian paused ice hockey before starting the 1992/93 season with the Atlanta Knights from the International Hockey League . After only six games, however, he left the Americans again to play for HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk , for whom he was on the ice until the end of his career in 2004 in the Russian Super League . With Metallurg he won in 1999 and 2001 respectively, the Russian Championship and 1999 and 2000 the European Hockey League . In addition, Ossipow won the Russian Cup with Magnitogorsk in the 1997/98 season and was runner-up in the same season. At the end of his career, the winger was again runner-up in 2004.
